Senator John Hoeven voted to confirm two nominees, Lindsay See and David Rosner, to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). Hoeven, a member of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, oversees FERC and has been working to advance policies that support U.S. energy security. During their confirmation process, Hoeven secured commitments from See and Rosner.
"FERC plays a critical role in permitting the development and transportation of our nation’s vast energy resources, and I appreciate Commissioners See and Rosner for their commitment to work with me toward making the U.S. energy secure," said Hoeven. "The Green New Deal policies of the Biden administration undermine our ability to utilize America’s abundant coal and natural gas resources, resulting in higher prices and less resilient energy systems. Instead, we need to maintain access to baseload power sources that are available 24/7, regardless of weather, while enabling the cost-effective development of critical infrastructure to safely get energy to market. That’s exactly the kind of policies we’re working to advance at FERC, and why securing these commitments from Ms. See and Mr. Rosner is important as we continue our efforts."
Hoeven's efforts with the FERC nominees align with his broader goal of ensuring that the U.S. can continue utilizing all its abundant energy resources, including oil, gas, and coal reserves.
