Senator John Hoeven and Senator Rick Scott have introduced a resolution denouncing the Biden administration's open border policies. According to Senator Hoeven, "Since day one, the Biden administration has neglected its responsibility to secure our nation’s borders, advancing policies that have enabled this illegal immigration crisis to grow." The resolution emphasizes that President Biden has the authority and tools needed to address the situation, including reinstating the Remain in Mexico Policy, enforcing Third Safe Country Agreements, and resuming construction of the border wall.

Senator Scott criticized President Biden and Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas for creating what he called "the worst border security crisis in our nation’s history." He stated, "The Biden administration’s open border policies have incentivized the unlawful crossing of the U.S. southern border by more than 9 million illegal aliens, including criminal aliens and suspected terrorists, from all around the world."

The resolution is also supported by Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz in the House of Representatives and has received bipartisan backing. It affirms the authority of President Biden and his administration to secure the border and end the crisis immediately.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) recently released data showing a significant increase in illegal crossings at the southern border, with more than 189,922 encounters in February alone. This marks the highest February encounters under the Biden administration, with a total of over 1,151,488 individuals encountered at the southern border in the current fiscal year.

The resolution is cosponsored by several other Senators, including Ted Cruz, Shelley Moore Capito, Marco Rubio, Kevin Cramer, Josh Hawley, and Ted Budd.
