U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Awards $23 Million Contract for North Dakota Flood Risk Management Project

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has announced the award of a $23 million contract to R.J. Zavoral & Sons, Inc. for the construction of the Southern Embankment Reach SE-2B, in support of the Fargo Moorhead Metropolitan Area Flood Risk Management Project. The project is scheduled to be completed by August 31, 2027.

According to the USACE, the funds for this project were provided through the 2021 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. In a statement, they mentioned, "These funds were delivered by the fully paid-for 2021 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law."

U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND), who played a key role in the legislation as the Ranking Member of the Environment and Public Works (EPW) Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee, emphasized the significance of investing in water infrastructure. The USACE stated, "As Ranking Member of the Environment and Public Works (EPW) Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee, U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) helped craft and negotiate the legislation." Additionally, Senator Cramer's views on the importance of water infrastructure investments were highlighted in an op-ed published in The Washington Times. "In an op-ed published in The Washington Times, Senator Cramer highlighted the importance of investing in water infrastructure."
