WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, the lead Republican on the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committee, today helped secure passage of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 Agriculture Appropriations Bill with important provisions he authored for North Dakota producers.
In a statement, Senator Hoeven highlighted the significance of the bill, stating, “Passage of the FY24 Agriculture Appropriations Bill provides important support for our farmers and ranchers while finding savings to help with the debt and deficit.” He emphasized the importance of the funding in supporting the agricultural sector in North Dakota.
Senator Hoeven also expressed pride in the efforts to secure funding for cutting-edge agriculture research in the state, mentioning, “We worked hard to provide strong funding to continue the cutting-edge agriculture research in our state. We secured $2 million in funding for a new ag policy research center, and given NDSU’s expertise in all things ag it only makes sense to bring this to North Dakota.”
The Senator underlined the positive impact of the legislation on producers, stating, “This legislation is good for our producers and will help them continue to provide the highest-quality, lowest-cost food supply for families in North Dakota and across the nation.”
Additionally, Hoeven secured more than $50 million in ag research funding for North Dakota, reinforcing the state's position as a hub for agricultural innovation and development.
