WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Kelly Armstrong (R-N.D.) released a statement expressing his opposition to the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024.
In his statement, Congressman Armstrong highlighted his concerns about the spending bill, stating, “Don’t let the talking heads fool you. This spending bill is another omnibus and a cave to politics as usual. North Dakotans are fed up with a broken Congress that keeps piling more debt on them and their children with last-minute backroom deals.”
Furthermore, Congressman Armstrong pointed out a specific issue within the bill, mentioning, “This bill also provides funding to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the ATF, which is implementing a new pistol brace rule. I refuse to fund the ATF while it stands behind a rule that retroactively makes millions of law-abiding citizens felons and tramples on the second amendment.”
The vote against the omnibus spending bill reflects Congressman Armstrong's commitment to addressing concerns related to government spending and Second Amendment rights.
