The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has announced that it will be granting $10 million to Hector International Airport for its terminal expansion project. This funding is part of the FAA's Airport Terminals Program (ATP) and will be used to restore and expand various facilities at the airport, including holdrooms, gates, ticket and baggage claims, restrooms, and concessions. These improvements aim to enhance travel and commerce in the Red River Valley.

According to Senator Kevin Cramer, "Hector is the busiest airport in the state, and this award is a good first step in helping them keep pace with the region's extraordinary growth." The grant comes as a result of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which fully funded the ATP program to support terminal modernization projects at airports.

This project has received support from the North Dakota delegation, who wrote a letter to the Department of Transportation in November expressing their endorsement of the expansion at Hector International Airport. This financial assistance will enable the airport to meet the demands of its increasing passenger numbers and contribute to the economic development of the region.

The funding will be instrumental in upgrading the airport's infrastructure and facilities, allowing for a more efficient and comfortable travel experience for passengers. With the expansion of holdrooms, gates, and ticket and baggage claims, the airport will be able to accommodate a larger number of travelers and provide improved services.

In addition to enhancing the passenger experience, the grant will also support the growth of commerce in the area. The expansion of concessions and restrooms will create opportunities for businesses to thrive within the airport, further contributing to the economic vitality of the Red River Valley.

The terminal expansion project at Hector International Airport is an important investment in the infrastructure of North Dakota. With the support of the FAA's $10 million grant, the airport will be well-equipped to handle the increasing demands of air travel and provide a positive experience for passengers and businesses alike.
