A collision occurred on October 22, 2025, at approximately 9:35 p.m. on US Highway 2 near mile marker 284, southeast of Crary. The crash involved two vehicles: a 2004 Infiniti FX35 and a 2019 Chevrolet Express Van carrying the Lake Region College Men's Basketball Team.
The Infiniti, driven by Shayna Glaser, age 38 from Devils Lake, collided with the rear of the Chevrolet. After impact, the Infiniti rolled over and came to rest in the median. Glaser sustained serious injuries and was initially taken to CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake before being transferred to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. She was not wearing restraints at the time of the crash and faces a charge of DUI (1st Offense), classified as a Class B Misdemeanor.
The Chevrolet van was driven by Preston Sundeen, age 43 from Lakota, who was unharmed. Sundeen and all nine passengers in the van were wearing seatbelts and reported no injuries. Among the passengers were Cooper Adams from Sunshine Coast, Australia; Akok Ajou from Devils Lake; Lance Bradley from Fort Yates; Jazayah Gates from North St. Paul, MN; Dalen Leftbear from Tokio; Ashton Munro from Sydney, Australia; Little Hail Perkins from Garrison; Albert Wellington from St. Paul, MN; and Osezojie Okhuoria from Morden, MB.
Agencies responding to the scene included the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office, Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, Devils Lake Fire Department, Devils Lake Rural Fire Department, and Lake Region Ambulance Service. The incident is currently under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
