Century Avenue, located east of Roosevelt Drive, is set to reopen to traffic on the evening of Wednesday, October 29, 2025. The road has been closed for construction and improvement works. Although vehicles will be able to use the road again, the outside lanes in each direction will remain temporarily coned off for several more weeks as crews complete remaining tasks such as grass seeding.

The project has brought several changes to the area. Century Avenue has been expanded from a two-lane asphalt road to a five-lane concrete road. New infrastructure includes curb and gutter installations, a 10-foot-wide bike trail along the north side of Century Avenue, and a standard sidewalk on the south side. Light poles have also been added for better visibility and safety. Pedestrian crosswalks with median refuge islands are now present at both Greensboro Drive and Roosevelt Drive.

In addition to improvements on Century Avenue itself, a new section of 52nd Street has been constructed to connect Century Avenue with Gold Drive. This two-lane asphalt roadway is expected to enhance connectivity and provide better emergency service access for neighborhoods developing in the northeast part of town.
