Bismarck police investigate vehicle-pedestrian crash involving high school student

A 15-year-old student from Bismarck High School was hospitalized after being hit by a truck near the school on Monday. The incident occurred around noon in the 700 block of North 7th Street.

Police said that officers arrived at the scene to find the student with significant injuries to her lower body. According to initial reports, a 46-year-old man was driving southbound on North 7th Street when his truck struck the student as she crossed eastbound in a crosswalk toward the school.

The student was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. Authorities reported that her injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The Bismarck Police Department's Traffic Investigation Section is conducting an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
