The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) has announced that the Elm Rest Areas on Interstate 29 near Hillsboro will close temporarily for maintenance and repairs on Thursday, October 16. The facilities, which are located at mile marker 99 just south of Hillsboro, serve travelers in both directions on I-29.
According to the NDDOT, the maintenance work is expected to be finished within the same day. The department issued a reminder for motorists to exercise caution in work zones. "The North Dakota Department of Transportation would like to remind motorists to slow down and use caution throughout work zones," the department stated.
The closure is part of routine efforts by the NDDOT to maintain infrastructure and ensure safety for all travelers on state highways.
