The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) has announced that the intersection at 46th Avenue SE and Memorial Highway in Mandan is scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, September 30.

After this reopening, the south side of the intersection at 40th Avenue SE and Memorial Highway will close on Wednesday morning, October 1. This closure is necessary for infrastructure upgrades in the area. According to NDDOT, "Through traffic on Memorial Highway will not be affected; however, southbound access to 40th Avenue SE from Memorial Highway will be closed."

Work planned for the area south of Memorial Highway on 40th Avenue SE includes constructing a new concrete roadway with curb and gutter, installing a new storm sewer, laying a new water main along 40th Avenue SE, making sanitary sewer connections, replacing an old lift station with a new facility, and installing updated traffic signals and lighting.

The closure is expected to last about three weeks. No detour routes will be provided during this period. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and use alternate routes.

For further updates or information about the project, residents can visit dot.nd.gov/memorialhwy or follow updates from the City of Mandan and NDDOT on social media.
