The McLean County Sheriff’s Office has announced that it is accepting applications for the position of Patrol Deputy. The department is looking for individuals who are interested in law enforcement and committed to serving the community.
Patrol Deputies will be responsible for patrolling assigned areas, responding to emergency calls, conducting investigations, enforcing laws and ordinances, performing traffic stops, issuing citations, collaborating with other agencies and organizations, preparing reports, maintaining records, and engaging with community members on safety issues.
Applications are open until 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. Preference will be given to applicants who are P.O.S.T certified and have prior experience. The starting base salary ranges from $48,758.59 to $57,752.76 per year depending on experience. The position includes a benefits package with fully paid health insurance for individuals or families, a 14.04% employer contribution to the NDPERS defined benefit retirement program, and employer-funded professional development and training opportunities.
