Structure repairs on the Interstate 94/Red River Bridge are nearing completion, according to the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT). To finish the next phase of work, nightly lane closures will occur from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. over the next two weeks.
Starting September 29, westbound traffic on I-94 will be limited to one lane for up to two nights while crews complete necessary tasks. Afterward, workers will shift operations to the eastbound side, where single-lane restrictions will also be in place for up to two nights. All lanes are scheduled to reopen by 5 a.m. each day.
Additional repairs are planned for the Eighth Street westbound entrance ramp during this period, with traffic again reduced to one lane.
Concrete paving near the ramp is expected to take place during the week of October 6, requiring another round of westbound single-lane closures for up to two nights.
The NDDOT noted that schedules could change due to weather conditions and advised motorists traveling through the area to remain alert and follow posted signs for safety.
“We are pleased to deliver essential structural upgrades to the I-94 bridge connecting Fargo, North Dakota, and Moorhead, Minnesota,” said NDDOT representatives.
