A planned water service outage affecting businesses along Memorial Highway and nearby areas began earlier than scheduled after a repair attempt failed, according to an update from city officials on September 25, 2025. Crews had originally intended to begin repairs at 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 25, but were forced to shut off water immediately when the scheduled repair did not succeed.

The outage is related to a water service line that was damaged earlier in the week. The contractor is working to fix the fitting connecting the service line to the water main. The affected area includes Memorial Highway from 32nd Ave SE to 46th Ave SE, businesses along 40th Ave SE between Memorial Highway and 19th St SE, all businesses on the north side of Memorial Highway, and 43rd Ave SE between Memorial Highway and 19th St SE.

Officials stated: "Unfortunately, the repair scheduled for this evening failed and crews had to shut off water immediately to complete the repair. At this time, we do not have an estimated timeline for when service will be restored. We will provide an update as soon as more information is available. We apologize for the inconvenience."

The city also said: "We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as crews work to complete this repair." Residents or business owners with questions are encouraged to contact Ashley at 701-269-8907.
