Bismarck residents will have another opportunity to dispose of waste at the city landfill free of charge during the week of September 29 to October 4. This event is being offered again because unfavorable conditions affected participation during the previous scheduled week.
During this period, residents can bring items, including household hazardous waste and electronics, to the landfill without paying a fee. However, there is still a charge for tire disposal. To participate, residents must present either their most recent City of Bismarck utility bill or a valid driver’s license that shows a Bismarck address.
The Household Hazardous Waste & Electronics Recycling Center will extend its hours for Landfill Free Disposal Week, operating from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm throughout the event. The regular hours for the landfill are Monday through Saturday from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm. Under normal circumstances, the Household Hazardous Waste & Electronics Recycling Center is open from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm on Monday through Thursday and from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm on the first and third Saturday of each month.
