A fatal crash occurred on September 12, 2025, at the intersection of 134th Avenue NW and 54th Street NW, northeast of Williston, North Dakota. The incident involved a collision between a semi-truck and a pickup truck.
The crash happened at approximately 12:59 p.m. when a 1996 Peterbilt semi-truck, driven by Charles Verschoot from Lambert, Montana, was traveling southbound on 134th Avenue NW. At the same time, a 2002 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck driven by Joshua Fuchs from Grand Junction, Colorado, was moving eastbound on 54th Street NW. According to reports, the Chevrolet S10 failed to stop at the intersection's stop sign for eastbound traffic.
The Peterbilt struck the Chevrolet within the intersection. Verschoot was wearing his seatbelt and did not sustain any injuries. However, Fuchs was not wearing a seatbelt and suffered fatal injuries in the crash.
Agencies involved in responding to the scene included the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Williams County Sheriff’s Office, Williston Ambulance, and Williston Fire Department. The North Dakota Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into the accident.
