The Williams County Vector Control District (WCVCD) will carry out ground and aerial adulticide treatments to control mosquito populations between September 9 and September 14, 2025. The operations are scheduled to take place after sunset, depending on weather conditions.

According to the WCVCD, ground applications using DeltaGard are planned for Ray and Trenton. The active ingredient in DeltaGard is Deltamethrin. Aerial spraying is also scheduled for Grenora and Williston’s Spray Block 8 using Imperium, which contains the same active ingredient.

Both products, Imperium and DeltaGard, have been approved for residential use by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The district advises residents to keep a distance of at least 300 feet from Vector Control trucks during fogging activities. Residents are also encouraged to take measures to avoid mosquito bites when outdoors between dusk and dawn.
