The Oliver County Commission has scheduled its next meeting for September 11, 2025. The agenda begins at 1:00 PM with the call to order, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and approval of the agenda, minutes, and bills.

A public budget hearing is set for 1:20 PM. At 2:00 PM, Road Superintendent Kenny Rude will address section line issues and oversee the opening of bids for a skid steer. Jim Jackson from Moore Engineering is also expected to participate during this segment.

Planning and zoning updates are slated for 2:45 PM. The commission will review three building permits: Permit #1071 for Dorthy Duhr (garage), Permit #1072 for Gene Weil/Nickolette Orgaard (shed), and Permit #1073 for Lacey Maier (house). Commissioners will conduct second readings of ordinances related to wind energy facilities and battery energy storage facilities, along with further ordinance discussions.

Other business on the agenda includes portfolio reports and updates from the Sheriff’s Department. This portion covers signatures on the Sheriff’s Policy Manual and a discussion about department staffing.

The commission will also discuss questions regarding 911 services, receive election updates—including joint powers agreements with city and schools, vote-by-mail or absentee options, as well as precinct and polling location assignments—and address an opioid settlement with handouts provided.

Additional topics include a presentation from Mickie McNulty-Eide on NDRIN matters. The Weed Board will report on a recent resignation and resulting vacancy.

No public comments or additional agenda items were listed in advance of the meeting.
