Senator John Hoeven, U.S. Senator from North Dakota, addressed a range of national and international issues in a series of tweets posted between August 25 and August 27, 2025.

On August 25, Hoeven discussed the ongoing conflict in Gaza during an appearance on Fox News. He stated, "Joined @JonScottFNC on @FoxNews this weekend to talk about the crisis in Gaza. The culprit is clear: Hamas is a terrorist organization; blocking aid, using civilians as human shields and prolonging the conflict. In this post, Hoeven attributed responsibility for the humanitarian crisis to Hamas and emphasized Israel's efforts to deliver aid.

Later that day, Hoeven provided an update on U.S. defense initiatives after meeting with Major General Colin Connor and members of Task Force 21 regarding ICBM modernization. On August 25 he wrote, "Met with the head of ICBM Modernization MG Colin Connor and members of Task Force 21 today as part of our efforts to accelerate Sentinel and keep our nuclear modernization efforts on track. We’re working through the Senate Defense and Military Construction Appropriations https://t.co/ZAxEU1lG7p". This reflects ongoing legislative efforts within the Senate to advance nuclear deterrence capabilities.

On August 27, Hoeven responded to a violent incident at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis. He expressed his condolences by stating, "Mikey and I are heartbroken by the horrific events at Annunciation Catholic School today in Minneapolis. We’re praying for all those impacted - may God be with the families, victims, and community affected by these evil acts."

Senator Hoeven has previously focused on both foreign policy—particularly regarding Middle East conflicts—and U.S. military readiness as part of his role representing North Dakota in Congress.
