The North Dakota Department of Transportation has announced that the Pembina River bridge on southbound Interstate 29, located at mile marker 214, will undergo a routine inspection on August 20. The inspection is scheduled to take place between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., during which time traffic control measures will be in effect.
As part of the inspection process, the right lane and right shoulder of the bridge will be closed to traffic. A width restriction of 17 feet will also be enforced for vehicles traveling through the area. Additionally, speed limits in the work zone will be reduced to help ensure safety.
Motorists using this stretch of Interstate 29 should anticipate minor delays due to these temporary changes. The North Dakota Department of Transportation has advised drivers to remain attentive, adhere to posted detours, and be prepared for possible traffic congestion.
"Pay attention, follow the signed detour and be aware of traffic congestion," stated the department in its notice regarding the upcoming inspection.
