The Williams County Vector Control District (WCVCD) has announced that it will conduct ground and aerial adulticide treatments from August 12 to August 13, 2025. The initiative aims to control mosquito populations in several areas of Williams County.
Ground adulticide applications are scheduled for Grenora, Ray, Williston’s Block 8, and South Williams County west of Lake Jessie. In Ray and Grenora, the WCVCD will use Zenivex, which contains the active ingredient Etofenprox. For Block 8 and South Williams County, Deltagard with Deltamethrin as its active ingredient will be used.
Aerial spraying is planned for the Cities of Williston and Trenton using Imperium, which also contains Deltamethrin. All products—Imperium, Zenivex, and DeltaGard—are approved for residential use by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
According to the WCVCD, “Weather permitting, treatments will occur near sunset.”
Residents are advised to keep a distance of at least 300 feet from Vector Control trucks during fogging operations. The district also encourages residents to take precautions against mosquito bites when outdoors between dusk and dawn.
