The Mankato MoonDogs secured a 6-2 victory over the Larks on Wednesday evening, maintaining their position at the top of the Great Plains West Division standings in the second half of the season.

During the second inning, the MoonDogs rallied with two outs. Caleb Wulf and Corey Nunez hit consecutive extra-base hits to right center field. An error by Ben Patton, the Larks’ right fielder, allowed a third run to score. Josey Williamson followed with a double down the left field line, extending the lead to 4-0.

Tate Marland started for the MoonDogs and gave up one run on seven hits over five innings. “I was trying to just put us in a good spot for this playoff run,” said Marland. “We’ve got a good squad, we’re looking to make a run, and I think we did a good job tonight.”
