Mankato MoonDogs secure key win over Larks to stay in playoff hunt

The Mankato MoonDogs maintained their position in the playoff race after defeating the Larks 14-6 on Wednesday night.

The scoring began in the top of the fourth inning when an error by Larks first baseman Grant Ross allowed two runs for the MoonDogs. The Larks answered quickly. With runners on first and second, MoonDogs first baseman Caleb Wulf fielded a bunt but overthrew third baseman Preston Freeman, resulting in two runs for the Larks. Tyler Bunting followed with a single to give the Larks a 3-2 lead. Ethan Crawford added another run for the Larks in the fifth inning with an RBI single.

In the sixth inning, the MoonDogs rallied with two outs, producing five hits and drawing two walks to score six runs. The team extended its lead and secured a 14-6 victory.
