The Bismarck-Mandan Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) has scheduled a public hearing for August 20, 2025, at 10 a.m. The meeting will take place in the David Blackstead Meeting Room at the City/County Building located at 221 N 5th St, Bismarck.

This hearing is set to allow community members to participate in reviewing proposed amendments to the Bismarck-Mandan 2025-2028 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The TIP outlines federally funded transportation projects in the metropolitan area over a four-year period. Among the amendments under consideration are a cost increase for a Memorial Highway project and the addition of a new project for fiscal year 2025.

According to the MPO, "The purpose of the hearing is to provide an opportunity for public involvement in the review of proposed amendments to the TIP. The TIP includes federally funded metropolitan area transportation projects over a four-year time frame. This month, a cost increase to a Memorial Highway project and a new FY 25 project will be considered. The proposed amendments will be adopted by the MPO Policy Board, contingent upon no substantive change required due to public comments."

Residents are encouraged to attend or send their feedback on these changes. Comments can be submitted to Stephen Larson of the MPO by mail at P.O. Box 5503 Bismarck, ND, 58506 before 9 a.m. on August 20, or via email or fax at (701) 222-6450. For more details about participating or submitting input, individuals may contact Stephen Larson, MPO Transportation Planner, at (701) 355-1848.

Those needing accommodations for disabilities or language assistance should reach out to the Title VI/ADA Coordinator at (701) 355-1330 or by email. TTY users can use Relay North Dakota services by dialing 711 or calling 1-800-366-6888 at least five days prior to the meeting.
