A fatal crash occurred on August 2, 2025, at approximately 2:57 a.m. on the U.S. Highway 83 Bypass near the 4th Avenue NW overpass in Minot. The incident involved a 2021 Tesla Model Y traveling northbound at high speed when it left the roadway and crashed into a fixed object, resulting in a rollover.
The driver, a 21-year-old male from Minot, was wearing a seatbelt but sustained fatal injuries. The road and weather conditions were reported as good at the time of the accident.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol is leading the investigation into the crash. Other agencies involved include the Minot Fire Department, Minot Police Department, Ward County Sheriff’s Office, and Trinity First Response.
