Single-vehicle crash in Oliver County results in serious injuries

A single-vehicle crash occurred at Cross Ranch State Park in Oliver County on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at around 2:48 PM. The incident involved a 2008 GMC Yukon that collided head-on with a tree.

The driver, a 47-year-old male from Minot, suffered minor injuries. A juvenile male passenger sustained serious injuries. Neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Both individuals were taken to Sanford Medical Center-Bismarck for treatment.

The driver faces several charges including DUI with a Minor-Class A Misdemeanor, Reckless Endangerment: Extreme Indifference-Class C Felony, Child Neglect-Class C Felony, and No proof of liability insurance-Moving violation.

Agencies responding to the scene included the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP), Oliver County Fire/Rescue, Oliver County Ambulance, Oliver County Sheriff’s Office, and Cross Ranch State Park Rangers. The road conditions were dry and the weather was clear and sunny at the time of the accident.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into the crash.
