Single-vehicle rollover crash near Valley City results in serious injuries

A single-vehicle crash occurred early Tuesday morning south of Valley City, North Dakota. The incident took place at the intersection of County Road 21 and 43rd Street SE at around 12:02 AM.

The vehicle involved was a 2023 Dodge Ram driven by David Bjornson, aged 62, from Spiritwood, ND. According to reports, the vehicle failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway, and rolled over. Both Bjornson and his passenger, Robert Hoyt, aged 60 from Eckelson, ND, sustained serious injuries.

Neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. They were initially taken to Mercy Hospital in Valley City before being transferred to Sanford Medical Center-Fargo for further treatment.

David Bjornson has been charged with criminal vehicular injury, classified as a Class C felony. The North Dakota Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into the accident.
