A single-vehicle crash occurred on County Road 21 at the intersection with 43rd Street SE, south of Valley City, early Tuesday morning. The incident took place at approximately 12:02 AM on July 22, 2025.
The crash involved a rollover of a 2023 Dodge Ram. Both the driver and passenger sustained serious injuries. Neither was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The driver, a 62-year-old male from Spiritwood, ND, has been charged with criminal vehicular injury, classified as a Class C felony. The passenger is a 60-year-old male from Eckelson, ND.
Emergency response teams including the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP), Barnes County Sheriff’s Office, Valley City Police Department, Barnes County Ambulance, Valley City Rural Fire Department, and Kathryn Fire Department were involved in managing the scene.
Both injured individuals were initially taken to Mercy Hospital in Valley City before being transferred to Sanford Medical Center-Fargo for further treatment. The investigation into the crash is ongoing by the NDHP.
