On July 10, 2025, a fatal crash occurred near the junction of 8th Street NE on 12th Avenue NE in Grand Forks County. The incident took place at approximately 11:39 p.m. when a 2017 Ford Edge traveling eastbound left the roadway and struck a fixed object at the entrance to the Grand Forks Country Club.
The driver, a 47-year-old male from Grand Forks, ND, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Road conditions were reported as good, and weather conditions were clear and dark at the time of the crash.
Agencies involved in responding to the incident included the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP), Grand Forks Sheriff’s Office, Grand Forks Police Department, Altru Ambulance Service, and Thompson Fire Department. The use of restraints by the driver is currently unknown.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into the crash.
