Bismarck's Independence Day celebration, Red, White & Boom!, debuted at the MDU Resources Community Bowl with an estimated attendance of 8,000 people. The event marked a significant shift from its previous location due to construction and was met with enthusiasm by attendees.
City of Bismarck Administrator Jason Tomanek expressed gratitude towards community partners and sponsors, stating: "On behalf of the City of Bismarck, I would like to thank all the community partners and sponsors who helped make this event memorable. And an even bigger thank you to the thousands of people that came out to celebrate the 4th of July in the Capital City."
The festivities included interactive inflatables, live music performances by Ben Suchy and his father Chuck Suchy, as well as a concert by the Bismarck-Mandan Symphony Orchestra. The evening concluded with a fireworks display over the Missouri River organized by Jim Keller with J&J Fireworks.
Local businesses and civic leaders played a crucial role in supporting the event. Notable sponsors included Bismarck State College, MDU Resources Group Inc., Basin Electric Power Cooperative, among others.
Funatix Events General Manager Will Satler commented on the success: “We were so amazed by the incredible support from the community for this storied event, and are already working hard to collect as much feedback as possible to make this event even better for next year.”
The planning committee is seeking feedback through a post-event survey available until July 21.
