On Thursday, July 3, a rollover crash occurred on Interstate 29, about three miles north of Grandin. The incident took place at approximately 3:30 PM CDT under good road and weather conditions.

The vehicle involved was a 2017 Ford Transit driven by Andrew Clapp, 34, from Arvilla, ND. Clapp was uninjured in the crash and was wearing a seat belt. His passenger, Roseanne Clapp, 35, also from Arvilla, sustained injuries despite wearing a seat belt.

In addition to the driver and passenger, there were ten juvenile passengers aged between nine months and sixteen years old. They suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were all restrained at the time of the accident.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol reported that the left rear tire of the Ford Transit blew out while it was traveling southbound in the right lane. This caused the vehicle to veer into the west ditch where it rolled over before coming to rest facing northwest.

Emergency services including Traill County Sheriff’s Office, Grandin Fire & Responders, Hillsboro Sanford Ambulance Service, West Traill Ambulance Service, and Agassiz Valley Human Services responded to the scene. Injured occupants were transported to local medical facilities for treatment.

The crash is currently under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
