Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library
The Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library (BVMPL) has been recognized for its public relations efforts at the American Library Association’s Core PR Xchange Awards Ceremony held on June 28, 2025, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The library received the award for the second consecutive year, specifically for its "Phantom Finds" commercial. This commercial was acknowledged as the best material promoting collections, services, and resources among libraries within a similar budget category. Out of 297 submissions, only 25 were honored for electronic content.
The library expressed gratitude to staff members Matt Hovland, Troy Hamre, Allison Keller, Mariah Ralston, and Kevin Tengesdal for their contributions to creating the Phantom Finds commercial.
The annual PR Xchange Awards Competition aims to recognize outstanding public relations materials produced by libraries nationwide over the past year. Entries are assessed based on content, originality, and design by a panel of experts in public relations and related fields.
BVMPL offers four ghost hunting kits that include various paranormal equipment and books about ghost hunting and paranormal activity in North Dakota. These kits are available for adult patrons aged 18 and older with a limit of one kit per library card.
