Cass County crash results in serious injuries; investigation ongoing

A collision involving two vehicles occurred in Cass County on Wednesday, June 25, at around 11:00 AM. The incident took place on Cass County Road 26/Highway 18, between Arthur and Hunter. The road was wet, and the weather was cloudy with light rain at the time of the crash.

The accident involved a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) hauling gravel and a passenger car. The crash was classified as a T-bone collision. Several agencies responded to the scene, including the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP), Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Hunter Fire Department, Arthur Fire Department, Hunter Ambulance, and Sanford Ambulance.

The first vehicle was a 2006 Kenworth with a belly-dump gravel trailer driven by Ramiro Rios from San Benito, Texas. Rios was not injured in the crash and was wearing his seatbelt. No charges were filed against him.

The second vehicle involved was a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Dale Bosch from Beaver Creek, Minnesota. Bosch sustained serious injuries along with passengers Karen Bosch and Suzanne Sudmeier from Alexandria, Minnesota. All three were wearing seatbelts, and airbags deployed during the crash. They were transported to medical facilities in Fargo for treatment. Dale Bosch received a citation for failing to yield.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into the accident.
