The Williams County Vector Control District (WCVCD) has announced that it will conduct ground adulticide treatments from June 24 to June 30, 2025, in Trenton and Williston. The treatment will take place in Spray Blocks 3 and 7, weather permitting, near sunset. Residents are advised to maintain a distance of at least 300 feet behind the Vector Control trucks during fogging operations.
The WCVCD will use DeltaGard for the treatment, which contains deltamethrin as its active ingredient. This product is approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for use in residential areas.
Residents are encouraged to take precautions against mosquito bites when outdoors from dusk to dawn during summer months. Recommended measures include wearing long-sleeve shirts and long pants made of tightly knit fabric, limiting outdoor activities during these hours, and using mosquito repellents such as DEET, Picardin, or oil of lemon eucalyptus. Additionally, eliminating standing water on properties can help prevent mosquito re-population.
