The City of Bismarck is continuing efforts to clean up trees and branches damaged by the storm on June 20. Residents are advised to place storm-damaged trees and branches on the boulevard for collection, ensuring that branches are cut into manageable lengths. Collection will occur on regular garbage days using different equipment, but items placed in alleyways will not be collected. It is important to keep garbage and recycling containers at least four feet away from debris set out for collection.

Residents are asked to park vehicles at least ten feet away from debris piles to prevent damage during collection. Additionally, tree debris should not be placed in the street as it can block water flow to storm drains, increasing the risk of street flooding during heavy rain.

Branches should not be taken to grass collection sites. The landfill will accept storm-damaged trees and branches free of charge for Bismarck residents until July 5. When transporting these materials to the landfill, loads must be tarped or tied down securely; unsecured loads may result in a $25 fine.

The landfill operates Monday through Saturday from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm and is located at 2111 N 52nd Street, Bismarck ND 58501.
