The City of Bismarck is continuing efforts to clear debris following the storm on June 20. Residents are advised to place damaged trees and branches on the boulevard for collection, ensuring that branches are cut into manageable lengths. Collection will occur on regular garbage days using specialized equipment. It is important for residents to keep their garbage and recycling containers at least four feet away from the debris.
To facilitate smooth operations, vehicles should be parked at least ten feet away from piles of debris. Residents are also reminded not to place tree debris in the street, as this could obstruct water flow to storm drains and potentially lead to flooding during heavy rain.
Branches should not be taken to grass collection sites. However, the landfill will accept storm-damaged trees and branches free of charge until July 5. When transporting these materials to the landfill, all loads must be secured with tarps or ties; unsecured loads may incur a $25 fine.
