Fresh produce will soon be accessible to CampEd Wildcat families through the Strong Farm Veggie Van. This mobile market, offering seasonal vegetables, will launch on June 25 at Will-Moore Elementary School. The initiative is a pilot project specifically for CampEd Wildcat families and is not available to the general public.

The project aims to provide each household with farm-fresh vegetable bundles to encourage nutritious home-cooked meals. The goal is to support family wellness, bolster the local food system, and promote area producers.

“The Veggie Van is a great way to meet people where they are and make healthy, local food more accessible in our community," said Katie Johnke, nutrition and health promotion coordinator at Bismarck-Burleigh Public Health.

This initiative is a collaboration involving Strengthen ND Strong Farm, Bismarck-Burleigh Public Health, NDSU Extension, and Bismarck Public Schools. Local producers contributing include Legendary Greens, Betty’s Acres, Stoll Farms, Skyline Ranch Produce, among others.

CampEd families are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to eat healthily while supporting local agriculture.
