The Williams County Vector Control District (WCVCD) has announced plans to conduct adulticide treatments in the areas of Ray, Trenton, and Williston. These operations are scheduled for Tuesday, June 17, and Wednesday, June 18, contingent on favorable weather conditions.

On June 17, ground adulticide treatments will be carried out in Ray and Trenton. The WCVCD advises that these activities will occur near sunset if the weather allows. Residents are requested to maintain a distance of at least 300 feet from Vector Control trucks during fogging operations. The chemicals DeltaGard and Zenivex E20 will be used in Ray and Trenton respectively.

The following day, on June 18, aerial adulticide treatments are planned for all spray blocks in Williston. Again dependent on weather conditions, these will also take place around sunset. For this operation, the WCVCD intends to use Imperium.

According to the WCVCD, "WCVD uses products that are approved for use in residential areas by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)."

Residents are advised to take measures against mosquito bites when outdoors from dusk till dawn during summer months. Recommendations include wearing long-sleeved shirts and long pants made of tightly knit fabric, minimizing outdoor exposure during peak mosquito activity times, and using repellents containing DEET or Picardin or oil of lemon eucalyptus. Additionally, residents can help reduce mosquito populations by eliminating standing water on their properties.

For further details and notices regarding these operations or other related information from WCVCD, residents are encouraged to visit their official website.
