Fatal crash near Leeds under investigation by North Dakota Highway Patrol

A fatal crash occurred on Thursday, June 12, at 7:42 AM on US Highway 2, approximately seven miles east of Leeds. The incident involved a single vehicle, a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by David Moe, 62, from Devils Lake. According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP), Moe was traveling west when the vehicle left the roadway. It entered the median, struck an embankment, crossed back over the roadway, and came to rest in a slough. Moe was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.

The road and weather conditions were reported as good at the time of the crash. No charges have been filed. The NDHP is conducting an investigation into the incident with assistance from several agencies including the Benson County Sheriff’s Office, Lake Region Ambulance Service, Leeds Ambulance Service, and Leeds Fire Department.
