The Mandan Public School District announced that the school board election took place on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Brave Center, with board members Lori Furaus, Tom Peters, and Jake Schmidt running for re-election.

According to the Mandan Public School District, the 2025 Mandan School Board election was held at the Brave Center Administration Building, located at 901 Division St NW. The election process included several deadlines: a March 8 public notice of candidacy filing, an April 8 submission deadline for candidate documents, and ballot preparation before May 1.

Ahead of the election, the board finalized polling places and precincts by May 6 and published the required election notice before May 27. The board is scheduled to meet on June 23 to canvass the returns and certify the results. Financial statements and board bills for previous years are available for public review to maintain transparency.

Public comment is scheduled during regular board meetings with prior coordination requested. Comments must relate to school operations or programs and adhere to time and content guidelines. The district also encourages community involvement through board committees focused on student achievement, facilities and finance, and policy and personnel. Interested individuals can apply online to join these committees.

The mission of Mandan Public School District is to provide students with rigorous and personalized learning experiences while helping them develop social and emotional skills for success. According to the district, the Mandan School Board consists of nine members serving as the policy-making body for the district with authority only during formally called meetings. The Board sets policies, approves budgets, establishes goals, manages property, and serves as a link between the district and the public. Board members also participate in various district and non-district committees. The Board operates with standing committees focused on facilities, finance, policy, personnel, and student achievement. Dr. Mike Bitz serves as superintendent.
