Mandan Public School District has announced that the Morton Mandan Public Library's 2025 "Color Our World" summer reading program is currently underway.

According to the Morton Mandan Public Library (MMPL), the 2025 summer reading initiative encourages participants to log reading minutes, complete activities, and earn rewards through the Beanstack app. The program features weekly color themes, community events, and pop-up activities. Special incentives include badges for visiting the library or Bookmobile in designated colors.

Participants can also earn credit by attending events such as Mandan Market Nights and the Summer Concert Series in Dykshoorn Park. The library’s event calendar highlights activities, surprise guests, and take-home projects to promote engagement with reading and the local community.

The MMPL, located in Mandan, North Dakota, provides public access to books, digital materials, meeting rooms, and community programs. Renovated in 2022, it offers updated facilities for teens and children. Patrons have access to digital resources like e-books and audiobooks. The Bookmobile service delivers materials to 28 locations monthly. Programs include book clubs, seasonal events, and craft activities. Additionally, the library houses a seed library and a used bookstore named "A Novel Idea." Meeting and study rooms are available for public use.

The Mandan Public School District aims to provide students with rigorous learning experiences while fostering social and emotional skills for success. According to the district, the Mandan School Board consists of nine members who serve as the policy-making body during formally called meetings. They set policies, approve budgets, establish goals, manage property, and link the district with the public. Board members also participate in various committees focused on facilities, finance, policy, personnel, and student achievement. Dr. Mike Bitz serves as superintendent.
