Williams County will hold a public information meeting on June 17 to discuss the Roadway Safety Action Plan (RSAP). The meeting is scheduled from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Williams County Highway Department in Williston.

The purpose of this gathering is to collect feedback from residents to identify areas outside the City of Williston that need safety improvements. An open house format will be used, with a formal presentation set for 6:30 p.m.

For those unable to attend, written comments can be submitted via mail or email with “Williams County RSAP – Public Input Meeting” in the subject line. Comments should be sent by June 18, 2025, and addressed to Austin Alexander, Ackerman-Estvold Project Manager.

Funding for this initiative comes from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Grant Program. This program supports efforts aimed at reducing roadway fatalities and serious injuries through local, regional, and tribal initiatives.

The RSAP's development is based on an extensive review of transportation safety policies at various levels. These guidelines will inform the plan's goals and recommended actions in line with best practices in transportation safety planning. A draft action plan is expected by July 2025, with final adoption by January 2026.
