A pedestrian tunnel in Bismarck has been transformed into a 1,600-square-foot mural. The project was brought to life through the efforts of local artists and the participation of 688 community members, with support from various partners. The public unveiling is scheduled for June 18 at 4 p.m., with parking available at Sertoma Park's south lot near Shelter 9 and accessible parking along Riverwood Drive.

The mural project was led by Nicole Gagner, alongside mosaic artist Molly McLain, apprentice Melanie Moniz, and a team of community artists. They used the GoodSpace mural method, known for its weather-resistant qualities. Over the course of Fall 2024, fourteen community paint parties were held where people from diverse age groups contributed to creating this vibrant artwork.

The resulting mural aims to create a colorful and welcoming space that enhances the tunnel's aesthetics while promoting walkability, safety, and fostering community connections.
