The McLean County Sheriff’s Office is currently looking to hire two or more individuals for the position of Patrol Deputy. The role involves law enforcement duties such as enforcing laws, maintaining peace, and ensuring community safety.
Applicants will be responsible for patrolling assigned areas, responding to emergency calls, conducting investigations, enforcing laws and ordinances, performing traffic stops, issuing citations, collaborating with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations, preparing detailed reports, and engaging with community members.
Applications are open until 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. Preference will be given to applicants who are P.O.S.T certified and have prior experience. The starting salary ranges from $48,758.59 to $57,752.76 annually based on experience with opportunities for overtime. A comprehensive benefits package is included which covers 100% paid health insurance for individuals or families; a 14.04% contribution to the NDPERS defined benefit retirement program; and employer-funded professional development and training opportunities.
