North Dakota announces over $1 million in agriculture diversification grants

Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has announced the allocation of Agriculture Diversification and Development (ADD) Fund awards for five projects, with a total amount of $1,084,000. These awards were approved at the ADD quarterly meeting held on May 28 in Minot.

The ADD Fund is managed by the North Dakota Department of Agriculture. It aims to support new or expanding value-added agriculture businesses that demonstrate financial feasibility, enhance profitability for the industry, create jobs, and contribute to North Dakota’s economic growth. Eligible projects include agriculture product manufacturing, animal production facilities, commodity processing facilities, and food production and processing facilities. Feed or pet food processing facilities may also qualify.

The following projects received funding approval:

- GMG Ranch LLP was granted $200,000 to support finishing cattle in a premier livestock facility. Brent and Anissa Gregor can be contacted at 701-680-1612.

- Qual Dairy Inc. was awarded $100,000 to establish a conventional semi-automated milking system aimed at improving milk quality while increasing milk production and cow comfort. Mark Qual is available at 701-683-4428.

The next ADD grant application hearing is scheduled for July 23–24, 2025, in Medora. Applications must be submitted by July 1, 2025.
