Bismarck City offices and the landfill will be closed on Monday, May 26th, in observance of Memorial Day. Consequently, there will be no garbage or curbside recycling collection on that day.

The schedule for garbage and curbside recycling collection during the holiday week will be adjusted. Collections typically scheduled from Monday through Thursday will occur one day later than usual throughout the week. For example, items normally collected on Monday will instead be picked up on Tuesday, with this pattern continuing through to Thursday's collections being completed on Friday. Residents are reminded to have their garbage and recycling ready by 6:00 a.m. on their respective collection days or may set them out the evening before.

The landfill's hours of operation for the holiday week are as follows: it will remain closed on Memorial Day but open from Tuesday through Saturday between 6:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Similarly, the Household Hazardous Waste & Electronics Recycling Center will not operate on Monday, May 26th. It will resume services from Tuesday to Thursday, opening each day from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

For those requiring bulk item collection in June, arrangements must be made by June 16th for items to be picked up on June 18th. A service fee of $20 applies in addition to disposal costs at the landfill. Crews are limited to collecting no more than five items per pickup request. Residents can obtain further details by contacting Public Works at 701-355-1700, option 3.
