Mandan Public School District announced that Mandan High School students studied "Hamlet" and watched a reenactment of its final scene by Capitol Shakespeare.

According to the district, Mandan High School English II students in Dr. Candace Brannan’s class have been engaged in studying William Shakespeare’s "Hamlet" through various activities including reading, watching, acting, and listening. Recently, a semi-professional group, Capitol Shakespeare, performed a live reenactment of the play’s final scene for the students. The visit provided an opportunity for students to experience the play in a new way and connect with its themes of despair, justice, and grief.

Mandan High School is located at 2335 4th Ave NW, Mandan, ND. It is led by Principal Mark Andresen, with Assistant Principals Aaron Koenig and Alyssa Caya, and Activities Director Mark Weist. The school admits students who have completed 8th grade and received recommendations from their previous school. Transfer students must provide a satisfactory transcript and a North Dakota Department of Health Certificate of Immunization. New students must present proof of identification through student records or a certified birth certificate.

The Mandan Public School District's mission is to provide students with rigorous and personalized learning experiences while helping them develop social and emotional skills for success. The Mandan School Board consists of nine members and serves as the policy-making body for the district, with authority only during formally called meetings. The Board sets policies, approves budgets, establishes goals, manages property, and links the district and the public.

According to the district, board members also serve on various district and non-district committees. The Board operates with standing committees focused on facilities, finance, policy, personnel, and student achievement. Dr. Mike Bitz is the superintendent.
