WBI Energy is set to enhance a gas transmission line, expanding an existing 12-inch pipeline to a 16-inch one. The project will occur near Mandan High School along Eighth Ave NW.

To ensure the project's safe and efficient completion, WBI Energy has proposed staggered road closures in the vicinity. These closures are scheduled to begin after Mandan High School's academic year ends on May 23. However, summer school commences on May 27, and one of the affected access points is integral to the school's bus loop, potentially affecting transportation operations.

The City of Mandan Engineering Department collaborated with Mandan Public School District concerning the proposed timeline. The school district approved the closures with the condition that work adheres strictly to the scheduled dates.

The project will primarily employ a boring process—a technique used for installing underground utilities without disturbing new sections of roadway on Eighth Ave NW.

Motorists are advised to plan alternative routes and exercise caution near construction zones.
