North Dakota Agricultural Products Utilization Commission plans May meeting

The North Dakota Agricultural Products Utilization Commission is scheduled to hold a meeting on Thursday, May 29, at the North Central Research Extension Center in Minot, ND. The meeting will commence at 8:00 a.m.

The agenda includes a breakfast followed by the call to order and a business meeting. Items for discussion include reviewing meeting minutes, financials, eligibility questions, and sponsorship requests.

Several presentations are planned throughout the morning. At 9:30 a.m., Mike Metzger from Minn-Dak Farmers Cooperative in Wahpeton will present a project related to prototype and technology with a total cost of $250,000 and a requested amount of $200,000.

At 9:50 a.m., Xavier Hebert-Courturier from Picketa Systems in North Dakota will discuss another prototype and technology project costing $100,000 with $75,000 requested.

Surojit Gupta from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks will present basic and applied research at 10:10 a.m., with the project totaling $103,651 and requesting $73,781.

Following a break at 10:30 a.m., Rich Fletcher from New West Genetics in North Dakota will discuss their basic and applied research project costing $207,000 with $144,000 requested at 10:50 a.m.

Brandon Rust from CarboTech Technology in North Dakota will present on marketing and utilization at 11:10 a.m., seeking funding for their project which totals $76,625 with an amount of $66,300 requested.

William Rotenberger from Spruce Hill Meats LLC in Bowman is scheduled for an 11:30 a.m. presentation on marketing and utilization as well. Their project totals $81,013 with an amount of $29,888 requested.

A working lunch is set for 11:50 a.m., followed by funding decisions starting at 12:30 p.m. The meeting is expected to adjourn by 2:00 p.m.
