Gov. Kelly Armstrong has expressed his condolences following the passing of State Representative Cynthia "Cindy" Schreiber-Beck of Wahpeton. In a statement, Armstrong highlighted Schreiber-Beck's dedication to serving North Dakota in various sectors, including agriculture, aviation, education, and community development. He described her as a public servant whose compassion and care for farmers, students, and residents were evident in both her legislative work and private sector contributions.

Schreiber-Beck began her tenure in the North Dakota House of Representatives in November 2014 for District 25 and was re-elected in 2018 and 2022. Her roles on the House Education and Agriculture committees reflected her commitment to advancing legislation supporting key areas such as agriculture, education, aviation, research, and innovation.

Together with her late husband Gerry Beck, Schreiber-Beck managed Tri-State Aviation in Wahpeton. After his passing in 2007, she continued leading the business. She also served nearly four decades as executive director of the North Dakota Agricultural Aviation Association and was inducted into the North Dakota Aviation Hall of Fame on March 4, 2025. Her involvement extended to being a commissioner on the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission from 1997 to 2022 and participating in a governor’s task force that helped establish Grand Forks as one of the nation’s first unmanned aerial systems test sites.

In honor of Schreiber-Beck's contributions, Armstrong has ordered U.S. and North Dakota flags to be flown at half-staff from dawn until dusk on her interment day. An updated flag advisory will be issued once funeral arrangements are finalized.
